DESCRIPTION:This interactive presentation will provide participants the opportunity to learn more about\nsubstance use disorder and mental health issues in older adults and the impact these\nillnesses have on the individual and their family members. Because of these illnesses\,\nstrategies on how to best support clients with these illnesses will be discussed. Finally\, participants will be taught how to manage resistance in clients to provide the\nbest therapeutic support possible. \nLearning objectives:\n1. Gain a basic understanding of substance use disorder and mental health issues.\n2. Learn about the impact of substance use and mental health issues for older\nadults.\n3.
