Walk to End Elder Isolation

Join Team SHS at the 7th Annual Walk to End Elder Isolation by FriendshipWorks on May 15, 2022 at Jamaica Pond in Jamaica Plain. Registration and breakfast start at 9am and the walk at 9:30am for the 1.5 mile pond loop.
From FriendshipWorks, “our mission is to reduce social isolation, enhance the quality of life, and preserve the dignity of older adults in Greater Boston. We accomplish this by recruiting and training volunteers of all ages, faiths, and backgrounds who provide friendship, advocacy, education, assistance, and emotional support.”
The event will be hybrid: in person walking around Jamaica Pond and on Facebook live for those at home. We hope you can join us as we raise funds to reduce isolation among older adults in Greater Boston. Consider walking or running in honor or in memory of a special person or friendship in your life and proudly wear a sticker with their name on it during the event. Leashed dogs are welcome, and dog-free zones will be available.
