Marie Long has been one of the first points of contact for us at SHS since November 2018 as a Client Care Coordinator. In her role, Marie acts as a liaison between client families and our caregivers by overseeing schedules, answering questions, coordinating and managing everyone’s care, matching clients to caregivers and all other day-to-day tasks that impact both sides of the work we do at SHS.
Prior to SHS, Marie worked in customer service for a printing distributor (similar to the show, “The Office”) and then shifted to part-time roles as a preschool teacher, camp counselor and assistant, all while raising her children. With her kids now grown up, she was looking for a full-time role where she could continue to help others around her, this time just an older generation!
Marie thrives on the daily interaction she shares with our families and caregivers, and we truly feel she was meant for this role all along! With a passion for helping seniors, Marie always notes how rewarding it is facilitating relationships and the best care and partnerships between clients and caregivers. With parents the same age as our clients, she treats everyone like she would want her parents treated, and wants them to have the best possible care and companionship that we can provide.
In her free time, Marie enjoys spending time with her family, playing tennis, traveling and exploring new restaurants. The latter two she can’t wait to do again once we are out of the pandemic!
