The Caregiver’s Journey: An Afternoon of Poetry, Reflection, and Conversation

June 18 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm
Free

Join Seniors Helping Seniors this June, in recognition of Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month, for a meaningful program centered on the caregiver experience.

Award-winning poet Wendy Drexler will read from her new collection Harvest of What Remains (Feb 2026), a deeply personal reflection on her time as the primary caregiver for her husband living with Alzheimer’s. Through poetry, she explores love, loss, memory, resilience, and the emotional complexity of caregiving.

The reading will be followed by a conversation and audience Q&A, offering space for reflection, connection, and shared experience.

With a foreword by Dr. Pascual-Leone of the Wolk Center for Memory Health—who calls the collection “a tribute to all caregivers” that “opens a window into the experience with honesty, vulnerability, and grace”—this event offers insight and support for anyone touched by memory loss.

Light refreshments will be served
