Join the Goddard House outreach team for an interactive workshop and open your mind through art!
Opening Minds through Art (OMA) is an intergenerational art program for people with memory loss that was developed by Dr. Elizabeth Lokon at the Scripps Gerontology Center at Miami University in Ohio. Grounded in person-centered ethics, it was founded on the fact that people with dementia can express themselves creatively. The mission of OMA is to build a bridge across cognitive barriers and age through art.
Come learn about the benefits of art-making, and experience OMA’s step-by-step, “hands-off” approach that empowers individuals to engage in artistic expression and connect with others through images, regardless of cognitive abilities or art skills.
*Event open to Seniors Helping Seniors caregivers only.*
